Ongoing Quest 1 Support: An Update on Litesport for Quest 1 Users

Earlier this week we updated to the latest Oculus SDK, which no longer supports Quest 1. Given our focus on fitness, it is critical to our experience that we take advantage of the latest updates to hand tracking, body tracking, and overall performance. In order to minimize disruption to our Quest 1 users, we are not formally sunsetting the Quest 1, but continuing to make the last compatible version of the app available indefinitely - Version 1.12.170.

Quest 1 users will continue to get all the latest content as it is posted dynamically on our back-end. The most recent app update was focused on bug fixes and performance, and there were no notable customer facing features, however, it is important to understand that the majority of new features or promotions announced by Litesport will unfortunately not be available to Quest 1 users.

This is an unfortunate decision driven by Meta’s own decision to wind down Quest 1 support with their latest SDK updates, and as a developer we are required to work around the decisions they take as they evolve the platform. We do see from our data that Quest 1 users typically might see more performance issues and so it is not the optimal experience for working out with Litesport. We are pleased that we will be able to freeze Quest 1 users on the latest version of the app, and that our system will allow them to continue enjoying their subscription and access all the latest and greatest content across the current content modes that exist.

For any questions and concerns regarding this, please reach out to our services team; we look forward to continuing to support Quest 1 users, albeit without any future app updates.
